July School Holidays

July school holidays are nearly here!

We still have a few vacancies for the holidays so come to Albany and see the whales frolicking in King George Sound. Get the whole history with a vist to Whale World - a real true whaling station that was the last working whaling station in Australia. Cheynes Beach Whaling closed in 1978 and now has a massive display of Albany's whaling history.

There is nothing as spectacular as the Albany scenery in winter. Take a walk along the pristine beaches, see the Southern Ocean pounding the Gap, or explore the history of WA's oldest town

Bring a jacket and some warm clothing - the "show" is free!

Main bedroom

Choose from a 2 bedroom chalet that will sleep up to 6 people, or one of our larger chalets sleeping 9-10 people - great for a group or to share the accommodation costs.

The Whales are Here and Putting on a Show

June to October is whale watching season in Albany ( home of Australia's last whaling station.)

It's not unusual to be able to see whales frolicking from the doorstep of your chalet at Havana Villas. Another good spot to see them is from the lookouts around Marine Drive. They can often be seen from Middleton Beach. But to see them closer up - and enjoy an informative commentary we recommend you take a Whale Watching Cruise.

Albany has two very good Whale Watching Tour operators and Havana Villas can arrange your booking with either cruise company. We suggest you book your Whale Watching Cruise early in your stay in Albany as they are of course depenant on weather conditions and if you are unfortunate enough not to see a whale, you will be offered a free cruise until you do.

Albany Ocean Adventures has been operating under the name "Silver Star" Cruises since 1990 and prides itself with the service they offer on the largest, fastest and most comfortable vessel operating in Albany.

Albany Whale Tours  on the purpose built Sail-A-Way with its 360 degree walkway allows you to "walk on water" close to the whales

Cruises leave each morning  at 9:30am - subject to weather conditions with a 1pm afternoon cruise available depending on demand and minimum numbers

The new Marina and jetty is located in front of Albany's new Entertainment Centre. This is where the whale cruises leave from. Havana Villas will provide you with your ticket when you check in. You can pre arrange this at your time of booking or on arrival in Albany.
