Suggested four day Itinerary: -

Day 1.

Start your heritage trail.  Visit some of the the beautiful heritage buildings of Albany.  The Convict Goal Museum,  Albany Town Hall, and St John Church together with The Brigg Amity to name a few.

After spending your morning exploring the cultural precinct enjoy the shops and cafe's of York Street.

 

 

Day 2

Continue your Albany heritage trail with a visit to The National Anzac Centre.  Australia's only museum dedicated solely to the conflicts of WW1 .  Some 41,000 Australian and New Zealand troops gathered in Albany in 1914 before heading in two convoys of ships to the battlefield of Europe.

Whale Watching 

King George Sound in Albany is one of very few places in Australia where you have the opportunity to see both Humpback Whales and Southern Right Whales visiting during the same season (Winter) and sharing the same water space. Albany has a variety of Tour operators who can take you out to view the spectacular whales.

 

Day 3.

Another heritage must.  Visit Albany's historic Whaling Station the only museum of it's kind in the world.

On your return journey from the Whaling Station call into the incredible viewing platform at The Gap with it's impressive walk way extending high out over the crashing waves of the Southern Ocean.  Of course don't forget the Natural Bridge!

Day 4.

Prepare for a day of exploring the picturesque national parks of the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges. The elevated regions makes for delightful scenic drives and walking trails abound for keen bush-walkers along with the incredible observation viewing platform at the Granite Skywalk for breathtaking views over the Stirling Ranges.  Continue your drive through the cool climate wine growing region calling into quaint cellar doors for the obligatory wine tasting.
